Take the ALS Restaurant Challenge and raise money for ALS research

Monday, May 9, 2016

ALS Together, a local non-profit organization has partnered with restaurants around Durham for its first "ALS restaurant challenge" to raise awareness and funds to research new treatments for amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). Throughout May, restaurants from Gocciolina to Dos Perros to the "Mama's Hot Chicken" food truck will offer special drinks and menu items. Funds from these specials will go toward ALS research. Everyone who purchases one of these items will also receive a free ticket to an ALS Together fundraising event, which will be held from noon to 9 p.m. on Saturday, June 18th at the Spectre Arts Center in Durham. This event will feature music, art, food, drinks and an "ice pool" which brings the ice bucket challenge to a new level. For more information, visit ALS Together.
