Walker named PDC's Director of Advanced Practice

Wednesday, August 29, 2018

As of October 1, Bryan Walker, MHS, PA-C, will be the Duke Private Diagnostic Clinic's Director of Advanced Practice.

In this new position, Walker will work alongside the PDC’s Allison Dimsdale, Associate Vice President for Advanced Practice, to establish best practices and align advanced practice providers (APPs) across the physician practice. Walker will facilitate the integration of APPs on interprofessional teams within PDC practices, and help ensure the effectiveness of APPs by developing and implementing improvements in service, quality, competency and productivity.

Walker will maintain his clinical practice in the Department of Neurology and will dedicate 20% of his time to this new role.

“I am so pleased to have a person of Bryan’s caliber, professionalism and dedication as part of the PDC APP team,” said Dimsdale.  “Over the past several years, the role of APPs has become increasingly important to the PDC and essential to addressing patient care, access and quality demands.”

The PDC currently has more than 430 APPs practicing in its 120+ primary and specialty care clinics.
