Support Groups

 

Durham PD support group
Patients diagnosed with Parkinson's disease, as well as their care partners, are welcome to attend the Durham Parkinson's Disease Support Group, held from 10:30 a.m. to noon on the fourth Tuesday of every month. This free support group, sponsored by the Parkinson Foundation, is open to all (you do not have to be a Duke patient to attend).

Meetings are held in at the Duke Integrative Medicine Center (3475 Erwin Road, Durham NC, 27705). Download a flyer for the group here.

Loud and Proud 2019

A monthly speech and communication group for Parkinson's disease led by the Department of Speech Pathology and Audiology. Caregivers are welcome.
Come learn effective speech strategies, practice communication skills, and SING!

Held Mondays, 2-3 p.m. at the Integrative Medicine Building within the Duke Center for Living Campus, Workshop Room C (3475 Erwin Road, Durham, NC 27705). For more information, contact the Department of Speech Pathology and Audiology at 919-684-3451.

Meet the Researchers - April 26, 2019

Join our researchers, physicians, scientists, and clinical trials team as they discuss Parkinson's Disease research at Duke and beyond. This program is designed for individuals with or anyone affected by Parkinson’s disease; you do not need to be a Duke patient to attend. A $10 registration fee includes lunch and a snack.

Huntington's Disease

Support Groups

The Huntington's Disease Society of America (HDSA) and Duke Health hold quarterly support groups for individuals diagnosed with or at-risk for Huntington's Disease and their carepartners. You do not have to be a Duke patient to attend. Download a flyer for the support group here.

The group will meet from 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. on the following dates, with a complimentary lunch at noon:
