Kolls discusses what new AHA/ASA stroke guidelines mean for stroke doctors, patients

The American Heart Association/American Stroke Association recently issued new guidelines for the management of ischemic strokes, which account for the vast majority of all strokes. These guidelines, issued at the 2018 International Stroke Conference, expand the window for thrombectomy from six to 24 hours. Brad Kolls, MD, PhD, recently spoke with the DCRI about the implications of these new guidelines, including what they mean for clinicians, what they mean for patients, and what they mean for the future of stroke care.
