Dr. Jeremy Grove's overarching research interests involve using ecological momentary assessment (EMA) methods to understand near-term predictors of suicidal thoughts and behaviors. He is particularly interested in alcohol misuse as a contributing factor to the emergence and maintenance of suicidal behavior. A clinical psychologist by trade, Dr. Grove completed his predoctoral internship at DUMC, and earned his PhD from the Univ. of Utah. Dr. Grove completed a year of postdoc at Rutgers Univ. before returning to Duke, where he is now an assistant professor within the Department of Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences.
Dr. McLean Pollock is a public health researcher and clinical social worker who designs and evaluates peer-based social support interventions to promote self-management, emotional health and well-being, and quality of life for adolescents, young adults and parents of youth with special health care needs. Her work includes evaluation projects to help local collaborations assess their work and evaluate the impact of their interventions on child and family well-being and studies investigating the role of chronic conditions and special health care needs on youths' development and transition into adulthood. Dr. Pollock is also the Program Director of the Bobby's Coaches program, a peer support program for adolescent and young adult cancer survivors and their families. Finally, Dr. Pollock oversees a team of advanced psychology interns and psychiatry residents to develop and provide social support interventions to GME trainees across the Duke Health system.
