The Duke Department of Neurology works to make our faculty promotion and career advancement as open and equitable as possible.
We work with the Duke University School of Medicine's Faculty Appointments, Promotion and Tenure (APT) Office to offer resources, guidance and training to recruit and retain exceptional faculty and further our missions of excellence in education, patient care, and research.
Faculty advancement within our Department falls along four lines based on the faculty member's focus area and whether or not they are pursuing tenure. The following documents outline each of these paths.
