Chris Eckstein, MD
Associate Professor of Neurology
"I’d like to nominate Dr Chris Eckstein for the prestigious Neurology All Star award. It is stunning to me he has not won this award previously, and I’d like to rectify that situation….. Last Monday I developed abdominal pain and wound up in the Emergency Room till 4 AM. I knew I wouldn’t be able to make the next morning’s resident report at 7 AM and texted Chris who immediately agreed to take my place, as he has many times before."
Nominated by Rich O'Brien, MD, PhD
Associate Professor of Neurosurgery
"I would like to nominate Dr. Erik Hauck from the Department of Neurosurgery for being a Duke Neurology All Star. When an inpatient biopsy fell through in the Eye Center, Dr. Hauck agreed to add on the patient for a late day temporal artery biopsy on a Friday saving the patient with brittle diabetes many days of steroid use. His flexibility in helping our patients is consistent and deeply appreciated."
Nominated by Joel Morgenlander, MD
Kim Johnson, MD
Division Chief, Memory Disorders
"I nominate Dr Kim Johnson for the prestigious Neurology 'All-Star' award, for her work rolling out a new pathway for our memory patients to receive Lecanemab at Duke safely and expeditiously."
