Eyman
Ethan Eyman, MD
"I am an off-service intern, and Ethan Eyman supported me through my weeks on stroke and nights. He went over imaging with me, answered all questions thoroughly, went out of his way to educate me regarding the latest studies, went over physical exam skills, and lead by example.

What makes Ethan an "All Star" is the way he supported the general neurology service while on nights. After our sixth night shift, the general neurology census had grown tremendously, and with a long patient list the day team was concerned some procedures would not be completed that day. Not only did Ethan stay late after his night shift to do a lumbar puncture, but he also walked me through the steps and supervised my first lumbar puncture.

Ethan stayed late after a tough night shift to advance patient care by getting a lumbar puncture done, took a task off the day teams "to do" list, and helped an intern get his first lumbar puncture. A true team player, educator, and all-around All-Star resident!"

"Dan Laskowitz and Luke James mentored  NCC Fellow Gabriel Torrealba-Acosta and helped him receive funding for his research project through the Sanders Research Fund, which has helped more than a dozen trainees pursue research and other projects since being founded by Don Sanders, MD. Torrealba-Acosta will use the fund to assess time-varying caloric vestibular stimulation in patients in a minimally conscious state."

Gaini

Rahul Gaini, MD
"I wanted to nominate Rahul Gaini for an all star. We were short staffed at VA clinic and he showed up to help in the morning which allowed us to get through all of our visits on time. He helped out the intern as well and was extremely proactive. His help and positive vibes were much appreciated."

Mary Guhwe, NP-C, Shreyansh Shah, MD and Swaroop Pawar, MD
"Over the last several months, Roop, Mary and Shree have been working on streamlining the transfer progress from the NICU to the stroke service to optimize team communication, patient care and continuity, and facilitate timely discharge of stroke patients.  They have worked and communicated with nurses, APPs, and divisions of stroke and neurocritical care to create a process that is accepted by all teams. Their work will lead to enhanced patient care, improved communication, improved efficiency of our transfers, and a smoother experience for both teams."
